The Mruthyunjaya Mantram is commonly miscontrued, as the name itself (Mruthyu-Jaya) suggests, to win over Death. Far from the truth. In the Mantram, there is a referernce to Urvaaru ( Sanskrit word for CUCUMBER).
The cucumber is seldom plucked by force from the plant. Any such cucumber forced out is quite bitter. Those cucumbers that are ripe usually fall off themselves and are usually collected for consumption. They are the cool and tasty ones.
The prayer indicates- just like the Cucumber usually comes out on it's own from the plant, and not forcibly plucked, the death for the individual should also come naturally, and not be untimely - in other words, this prayer is only for saving from ApaMrthyu or untimely death, and not from Death itself.
As the saying goes, the only two certain things in life are Death and Taxes!!

Thanks for the comment on this mantra, yes that is what it mean, it is not talking about shiva or 3 eyes or escaping from death which is basically a big scary maya of human mind, it is crated by the 3 level of mind, but it have to drop its own, never try to forcefully detach from it. In Vedas never discussed about Gods, it clearly said truth, it called some names but it have deeper meaning than normal hindus call. the experience of truth is the feeling of that higher consciousness.that only can experience when you do not have any kind of attachment (kamam). this experience different people described different way it is end up with god. still going but this mantra tells the truth, never pluck with 'force', let it happens naturally let the fragrant come and let the pusti shows these are the sign of the raped fruit, then it leaves the plant its own, other wise you miss the all point of life, and it is a naked truth, thanks for your translation , you look like more ripe than other translators. namashiva, thanks again
