I relive the moment , when I first heard you cry
The most beautiful sound that I have ever heard.
I run out of emotions every time you call me "mom"
To me, there simply is not a more beautiful word.
You took me as your whole world, as a toddler
When I taught you to walk, hand in hand.
Your sweet nothings did mesmerize me for long,
Your smile was more powerful than any magic wand.
As you gear up now to step into the real world
To the ever-growing challenges that you would face.
Time for the erstwhile leader to be led, now
Time for me, to hold your hand, in support, and with grace.
