A new beginning

This warm afternoon, I pry
Indolently, at the blue sky.
Reflecting at the beautiful moments in life
Joyful, yet interspersed with strife.

Threads of my memories weave
Into the fabric of my here and now.
As if in salutation, the river reeds bend
As I did in life, to the strong sweeping wind.

The ariel roots of the riverside banyan furrow
Deep shades, comfortable, like a rabbit burrow
The hot sun of today now looks less intimidating
Of a better tomorrow, right there, I see a new beginning.
